Carrie Underwood Makeup Tutorial

So last night, I got served, a little bit too much, of that pois..... just joking! Last night I was fortunate enough to see Carrie Underwood with my girlfriends here in Hartford. Girl can sing! And lets not forget she's one of the  most beautiful women in music. Since Carrie received her big make over after graduating American Idol she has always made the smokey eye a personal staple. To get into the mood last night I rocked a little Carrie in the bathroom and did my best Ms Underwood smokey eye. Girlfriend always goes super dark especially on her Blown Away album cover which I used for inspiration. The look I created is still super dark and smokey just a little more muted in the under eye area making it a little more wearable for a night out with the girls. Hope this helps "y'all" replicate her look!

First off, we'll start with the tools and products I used. The brushes from left to right are, basic tapered eye shadow brush, blending crease brush, stiff crease brush, blending brush, smudge brush, and eyebrow brush.

Now lets work clockwise with the products. The top left palette is the neutral palette by Kryolan, the other my is Z-palette filled with Urban Decay and Smashbox shadows. Next is Benefit Hoola bronzer, Tarte Amazonian Clay blush in dollface, Too Faced Candlelight highlighting powder, Benefit High Beam highlighting lotion, Urban Decay Primer Potion, Make Up For Ever Aqua Brown in Ash, Loreal Voluminous False Fibre Lashes in Black, Make Up For Ever black Aqua Liner, and Urban Decay 24/7 waterproof liner in black.

1) Carrie is queen of the contour and highlighting, so watch my video on such to achieve her look, only  start off with Benefit HighBeam after your primer and before contouring, to give yourself dewy glowing skin. After you follow the video, finish with a little of the Tarte blush on the apples of your cheeks and the Candlelight powder on the areas you highlighted.

2) Use the Urban Decay Primer Potion on your lids to make sure you get the most of your shadow. Then use the basic shadow brush and cover your lid with Urban Decays shadow in Midnight Rodeo (Z-palette first shade top left)

3) Take your blending crease blush and use the dark gray shade of the Kryolan palette (bottom row 3rd from right) and lightly shade your crease and outter eye lid, creating a smokey wing going up towards the outside of your brow. Blend with each step as needed to get rid of any hard edges using either blending blush.

4) Take a black shadow (bottom right of the Kryolan palette) using your stiff crease brush, and blend from your outter lid in and slightly onto your crease, stopping in the middle of your lid.

5) Take a light gray shadow using your basic shadow brush, and apply to the inner corner of your eye blending out towards the centre of your eye on both the top and bottom lid. (Kryolan palette bottom row, first on the left)

6) Next using Midnight Rodeo the same shade from step 2, apply to the center of your lower lid, then apply the black shadow to the outter bottom lid and blend together.

7) Take the black pencil liner Make Up For Ever Aqua Liner, and line your water line and upper lid.

8) Using your blending brush, blend the liner on your upper lid with the black shadow (forgot to take a picture sorry friends!)

9) Next fill in your brows with a shade that matches your hair colour correctly (check out my post on everything eyebrows.) Then curl your lashes and apply the falsies of your choice. Now apply your mascara lightly to the top lashes blending your natural lashes with the falsies. Make sure to apply mascara to lower lashes as well.

10) Look at yourself in the mirror!

That's it! That wasn't too hard was it? Just finish off with a simple nude lip and you're good to go! This look isn't exactly a day look but looks stunning when going out with the girls! Hope you all enjoyed the tutorial and if you have any questions make sure to comment and Ill get back to you!

P.S. Sorry about the shady camera work, I need to invest in a point and shoot, all I have is my SLR and its not exactly the best at taking pictures of yourself!
