How to Afford Luxury Designer Labels Without Breaking the Bank

I don't know about the rest of you, but I have a hard time spending hundreds or thousands of dollars on a single item. My husband has an even harder time (unless its a car or a new suit.) My other problem, is that when it comes to handbags, shoes, and sunglasses, I find it a waste of money to purchase cheap labels because the items fall apart, don't last, and you end up repurchasing your basics over and over again. What's the point in that? It ends up costing you the same amount in the long run!

On top of this, I love high end fashion. The need for Louis, Louboutin, and Prada is uncontrollable! But i refuse to pay full dollar for most labels. (Louis Vuitton and Chanel NEVER go on sale so give up now, but tons of Louboutin styles DO go on sale! :) ) I do have a few items that were splurges or presents from the hubby (he bought a new BMW so I got some CL's) but most of my designer items were purchased at a FRACTION of the price. How? You may ask, since they these kind of upscale labels NEVER go on sale at stores like Holt Renfrew and Saks. Well, my friends, the Internet is our friend. I am a google master, bargain hunter, extraordinaire. Not only do I only buy items when they're on sale from outlet websites, I always have an online coupon code to go with it. I'm like the Extreme Coupon-er of fashion, and I want you all to join me.

Where to start: www.polyvore.com

If you haven't heard of Polyvore you are missing out. Its a beautiful website where you can build a digital closet of almost every article of clothing, bag, or shoe, you can find on the Internet, attached with a link to where to purchase. What some people don't know, is that if you type your favourite designer into google along with "Polyvore sale" Polyvore will compile a list of all the items that are currently on sale for that designer with a direct link to the website selling the item. All legit websites. Amazing right! I found a $1200 pair of Alexander McQueen pumps this way, for only $475. Now for a lot of people $475 is still a huge amount of money for a pair of pumps. But what if you have a coupon code?

Step Two: Coupon Code

Coupon codes are even better then Polyvore. I constantly cruise coupon websites for awesome discounts at any store. For instance yesterday I found 20% off at Bath and Body Works so I stocked up on Christmas candles and accessories. But they have them for outlet websites as well! Here's what you do. Start with step one, google your favourite labels on sale via Polyvore. Once you find an item that interests you click on the link attached and it will guide you to a website like Farfetch.com or TheOutnet.com etc. etc. When you arrive at the website, open a new window in your browser and google the website name, and coupon code. Sometimes there will be coupon for 40% off or 20% off this website sometimes there wont. Its all about luck and constantly searching. Don't give up friends, you will eventually strike gold. How's this example, I googled "Prada sale Polyvore" and found an awesome pair of nude pumps at Bluefly.com for $360 regular price $695. Are you kidding me!? Then to top it off I googled "Bluefly.com coupon code" and found a coupon for 20% off purchase and free shipping with a purchase over $200. So basically I got a pair of nude Pradas that go with EVERYTHING for 295 which is maybe only $95 more then a pair of Steve Maddens, but the quality of the shoes is incomparable and will last you FOREVER, which in the long run saves you money, and you'll be wearing PRADA on your feet.

Step Three: Know Your Sites and When to Shop

Know when to shop. The summer is the BEST time to do the tricks listed above. Its a down time for fashion and the previous seasons items are on sale on tons of website. When these items go on sale wouldn't it be nice to have the coupons come to you without constantly googling everyday? Well here's some of my favourite websites, sign up for their mailing list, and you'll receive all the coupons you  need in your inbox.

www.theoutnet.com
www.farfetch.com
www.couture.zappos.com
www.bluefly.com
www.retailmenot.com (coupon codes)

There are more sites out there but these are my favourites. I hope this helps you guys! I know that obtaining luxury labels seems impossible but I hope that this made things attainable for you! We all deserve to be pampered and to indulge in the things we want once in awhile!

WARNING: IF EBAY LOOKS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE IT IS. NEVER BUY TORY BURCH, LOUIS VUITTON, CHANEL, OR ANYTHING BESIDES LOUBOUTIN* ON EBAY. THESE ITEMS ARE ALL EXTREMELY EASY TO REPLICATE AND YOU WILL BE GETTING SCREWED FOR A FRAUDULENT ITEM.

*LOUBOUTINS, HOWEVER, ARE EXTREMELY, ALMOST IMPOSSIBELY, DIFFICULT TO REPLICATE. BUT DONT BUY THEM ON EBAY UNTIL YOU READ MY POST ON HOW TO SPOT FAKE AND REAL LOUBOUTIN(coming soon). THERE ARE FAKES OUT THERE ASWELL SO KNOW HOW TO SPOT THE FAKES AND AUTHENTIC SO YOU DON'T GET SCREWED LIKE I HAVE!
