How to Remove and Prevent Yellow Stains on Nails

Don't you hate when you remove your nail polish, without having a chance to add a fresh coat of polish, and your nails are tinged with a yellow tint! Gross! Your nails basically look like theyve been soaked in nicotine. If you feel hopeless don't worry, there are some solutions.

                                               *these are not my nails!

First, never paint your nails without a base coat. Most base coats dry extremely fast so you don't have to worry about your manicure taking forever. My favourite base coat is Essie Grow Stronger. It dries fast, and is full of nutrients to help keep your nails hard and strong.

If you forgot to use a base coat and have already achieved the gross pee stained nails then dont worry there are things you can do to clear it up. Your nails wont look as beautiful and sparkly as they will once the stain has grown out. But it will reduce the yellowness substantially so its not such an eyesore.

First get your self a lemon, extreme whitening mouthwash, whitening toothpaste and a clean toothbrush.

1) First cut the lemon in half and squish your fingers inside the half of lemon, letting them sit for a couple of minutes whilst wiggling them around to exfoliate.

2) Next soak your nails for 5 minutes in the whitening mouth wash.

3) finally scrub your nails with the toothbrush and whitening toothpaste.

When you're all said and done, your nails should significantly improve in colour. If you still desire a whiter look continue "brushing your nails" once a day. Don't overdue the lemon trick cause the acid of the lemon will weaken your nails.

I hope this helps guys! Remember even if you're using a light colour of polish it can still stain. So always use a base coat!
