Can we just talk about how much I love Munich? I have been to Oktoberfest twice, but that doesn't count, so I travelled on the train to Munich for a little shopping trip with my girl Heather. Being in Nuremberg, it is only an hour train ride into Munich so I am shocked I never did this last year! Wait, no Im not, I was a pregnant beast. The architecture is gorgeous, the city is so clean, and the shopping... well the shopping is out of hand. When me and heather get together we always splurge on a new bag, great for us, bad for the husbands. On this trip I purchased a Gucci Soho Disco, and Heather picked herself up a Celine Luggage tote. I wish I could give more information on where we shopped and where we ate, but I was just so excited to have a day with adults that I forgot to take notes. I did however take a vlog and posted it to my youtube along with a handbag review. Go to the YOUTUBE link in the nav bar and you can check it out :)
Shu Uemura has recently launched 21 brand new eyeshadows and I am SO excited to share them with you guys! However, these aren't just any eyeshadows, these are all inspired by the beauty of Tokyo, Japan! Each shadow incorporates a piece of Tokyo, for example, the shade Ume Pink was created and named for the ume blossoms that appear in Spring in Japan.
The best part of this line is you can create and put together your own custom palette that reflects your own style! I wanted a palette that was bright and vibrant and reflected the style of the famous Harajuku girls of Tokyo. The colours I chose were; Maki Gold, inspired by the gold lacquer art work of Japan, Shinjuku Yellow, which is inspired by the neon lights of downtown Tokyo, Ume Pink, inspired by the Ume Blossoms of Japan, and Matsuri Red, inspired by the vibrant red colour used in the festivals of Japan. Each shadow pan is $19 CAD, and each 4 well palette is $17 CAD and can be purchased here:
The look that I put together with my custom palette was inspired by the beautiful Japanese water colour paintings, aswell as the famous Harajuku girls of Tokyo, but with a more toned down, more wearable approach. For a full tutorial on the look as well as swatches of all 21 Tokyo inspired shades, check out my YouTube video below!
